| Haystak has accumulated over 200,000 sales in his 10-year career and still averages a remarkable 400 soundscan sales every week. Unlike many of his Southern peers, Haystak doesn’t embrace materialism and greed; he raps about his life as so-called "white trash," exploring the social dimensions of being white and underprivileged in the South. Following the success of fellow white-boy rappers Eminem and Bubba Sparxxx, Haystak found it easier to earn respect in an industry that had long frowned upon white rappers, particularly those from the country. Few gave this mammoth country boy a chance to succeed. In the late '90s he released his debut album Mak Million, under Nashville-based Street Flavor Records. Haystak’s next release, Car Fulla White Boys, was the album that took Stak from local to regional status. A few years later in 2002, Haystak released The Natural, which is his highest selling album to date. |
