Hyphy Mode "Go Dumb, Get Stupid" features the fun-filled, frantic style of music and dance associated with Oakland/San Francisco Bay Area Urban Culture. It began to emerge in early 2000 but the "hyphy movement" is just now gaining acceptance in mainstream America. Hyphy music is... having fun, hot cars and wild parties. It is distinguished by gritty, poinding rhythms, and can be associated with the Bay as "crunk" music is to the South. An individual is said to "get hyphy" when they act or dance in an overstated and ridiculous manner. Many in the Bay Area would describe this as acting "Retarted", "Riding The Yellow Bus", "Stupid" or "Going Dumb". E-40 is considered by most in the Bay Area as the "godfather" of Hyphy and it's movement to expose it to the world.
